An Introduction To The 80/20 Rule

What I want to bring to you, each week in this blog, is a topic that will help you gain the freedom that you want in your life. So many people crave financial freedom. But what is overlooked is the concept of time freedom.

When you can learn to free your time, and be less busy, scheduled and frantic, you can use that time freedom to not only create that financial freedom that you want but to also have improved health, a stronger family and you have the options to choose to do more of the work that you love and less of it that you don't.

So, each weekly topic will help in one of these areas. What we want to bring to you is daily inspiration, knowledge and information that will transform your life one day at a time. Nothing that we do or talk about is based on any type of quick fix. But this weeks topic of Amplifying The 80/20 Rule is the closest that will come to it. Not because it's a scheme to get something quicker than you deserve but a mindset on how to use what you are going to learn to make the most of your time.

Most people spend too much time on things that aren't important. We frantically run around putting out fire after fire. We over schedule ourselves to the point where there is no margin. We believe that if we are busy, we are being productive. And quite often, nothing could be further from the truth. We've been convinced to believe that busy and stressed are normal. And unfortunately, for so many, it has become normal.

But it's not effective.

When I first learned about the 80/20 Rule, I was oddly curious. I'd never been a "stats and numbers' type of guy. Analysis of data can put me to sleep faster than a bad movie. But the 80/20 Rule- otherwise known as the Pareto Principle, got my attention. In the late 1800's, an Italian Economist named Vilfredo Pareto noticed while harvesting his pea pods that 80% of the peas he harvested came from only 20% of the pea pods. He then applied this to macroeconomics and noticed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the Italians.

In time, new researchers, such as Dr. Joseph Juran, took this principle even further. He went on to note that the 80/20 Rule, as it is now coined, was in effect in almost every aspect of society. Whether is was that 20% of the roads are used 80% of the time, 20% of the people commit 80% of the crimes or that 20% of workers produce 80% of the results, the rule of 80/20 appeared universal.

What we are going to uncover this week is how you can use the 80/20 Rule to be more effective, and free up your time so you can do more with the things that produce the most results in your life and free you up from the things that don't. I will give direct examples of how the 80/20 Rule has changed our lives and our business for the better and how it even helped me fulfill a career long dream. That's tomorrow.

I hope you will come away from this week understanding that mastering- and amplifying- the 80/20 Rule in your life and your work will be a game changer for you and your family.

I hope you will join us this week during this fantastic topic!

Thanks!
